Since island shelving units (double-sided units) are typically placed in the center of the sales floor, what kind of shelving should be used along the supermarket walls? This is where wall-mounted shelving comes in.

Because these units are placed directly against the wall, they are designed with a single-sided structure. They are commonly used to display heavier or bulkier items, such as cleaning supplies, beverages, and canned goods.

Like island units, wall-mounted shelves are made of steel. Although they offer roughly half the display area of ​​island units, steel remains the ideal material choice given the need to support heavy loads or large products.

However, if you have specific material preferences, wooden wall-mounted shelves are also available on the market; while they offer a more premium look, they naturally come with a higher price tag.

If you desire the aesthetic of wood without the high cost, I personally recommend choosing steel shelving with a wood-effect finish, as the cost is significantly lower than that of solid wood shelving.
