Warehouse-style supermarket shelving—often referred to as "hybrid shelving" or "cash-and-carry shelving"—ingeniously combines high-capacity industrial pallet racking with retail display shelves on the lower levels.

This dual-purpose design enables retailers with expansive retail spaces—such as Costco, Sam’s Club, IKEA, and major home improvement centers—to display merchandise available for direct customer purchase on the lower shelves, while simultaneously storing bulk inventory on pallets directly above.

Structural Layout of Hybrid Shelving Systems: The hybrid layout is primarily divided into two core functional zones, seamlessly integrated within a single steel framework structure: The Upper Zone—High-Level Pallet Storage Area: This section features heavy-duty, industrial-grade structural beams designed specifically to support full pallets of merchandise. Access to this area—via forklift operations—is restricted to non-business hours or periods of low customer traffic; its primary function is to replenish stock or store surplus inventory.

The Lower Zone—Consumer Display Area: This section incorporates a variety of retail accessories, including adjustable gondola shelving, pegboard back panels, wire mesh baskets, and product dividers.

The height of this zone is designed to fall precisely within the customer's line of sight and reach, aiming to ensure that shoppers can access and retrieve merchandise with ease and convenience.
